30th

Today's the 30th birthday of the first singer I've ever liked (I guess. At least his album was the first one I've ever bought).

He won first prize at the Astro Talent Quest (currently Astro Star Quest if I've not mistaken) in 2002 when he was 21. I only got to know him the next year because my Keyboard instructor made me learn the song that became famous after he sung it at the competition. I didn't know about him before that because, you might have guessed, I didn't bothered about music/songs before I was interested in this guy.

So when I was 12, I bought my first CD- his first EP. 

Years went by and now I'm 20, he's 30. People who know me well enough will know he's my first favourite singer. Now it's about eight years later and probably some of my long-time friends would ask if I still like him.  

Well, I'm still buying his albums, but I don't buy merchandises any more. I still love his very distinguishable voice, but these recent years I don't put his CDs on play non-stop like I used to do. I still get excited when I am able to guess his voice accurately and I feel happy listening to his old songs and watching the old dramas he acted in.

However, truth be told, I don't quite like the style he's been doing in the recent albums, but I'd say it's just me. Probably I still(and only) like his original style of soothing songs(which I think suit his voice best) rather than the different kinds of songs he sings nowadays. 

But I still buy his albums, as I said; because after all these years, purchasing his albums has became more like a form of support, instead of buying them because I like the songs. It's just that now I just buy it, when I used to pre-order the albums so I could get the posters/other merchandises that only comes with pre-ordered albums.

So, after the long story, here's the ninth wish since 2003 for my first favourite singer- NICHOLAS TEO.

Sometimes I blog so random stuff that I wish I don't annoy my readers too much. That's why I say sometimes, I write for myself just so I can read back one day. ;)
